Sue and I were kindly invited to Jane and Ron’s for Christmas lunch and also for lunch on Boxing Day. We had a super time, the food was exceptional and sommelier (Ron) had chosen very well with the wines.

2013
2013 came in quietly for us and it was time to take stock of the solar panels and to see if they have been doing their job. 2012 was a very mixed year weatherwise as can be seen from the graph showing that May was the sunniest month and not June as one would expect. The overall total has been better than I expected, but hopefully 2013 will improve on this, but I am not holding my breath.
Talking about weather I was leading a ramble in the New Forest on 12th January. The weather on the 11th was ‘wall to wall’ sunshine and the forecast for the 12th was terrible. We had persistent rain and we were all very wet by the end of the walk. At one point the water nearly went over my wellies which would have been a disaster. This photo was taken about three quarters of the way through the walk. I’m behind the camera.
On the 13th the sunshine came back for most of the day so Sue and I went to Boscombe/Bournemouth for a bit of geocaching and a walk which would be dry underfoot. This is a photo of Boscombe pier from the cliff.
The Jon Egging Memorial on Bournemouth East Cliff. It was designed by local school children. We were very impressed.
