February Frolics

Our friends from Portsmouth joined us for lunch in early February. Unfortunately Sybil couldn’t make it because she was having a hip operation that day. She is making good progress.

The new font in Salisbury Cathedral is quite a work of art. It was designed by William Pye and was first used on 28th September 2012. The font itself holds 1300 litres of water.

We had two visits to Salisbury in the space of 8 days. On the first the weather was awful and so we spent most of our time in the Cathedral. The second time the weather was sunny, but chilly, so I managed some outside photos.

Jane and Ron came for an evening meal the same day. I showed some oldie photos, now that I have finished scanning the slides. I scanned about 6850 of them that’s why it has taken 18 months!

Caption Competition 1 – Winner: Jan from JHQ

P1110819 "So Fred the Tread said to me; " I think you need Winter tyres this year" and I said to him: "Winter tyres? I've had this bike 70 years and it's never let me down yet! What would I be doing with Winter tyres? I like sticking with what I know best - can't be doing with these new-fangled things!"
